Glyfada:

Glyfada has rightfully earned a reputation of being one of the most elegant and upscale suburbs of Athens. Dubbed as “Athens’ own Miami”, Glyfada features a wide range of charming cafes, boutique shops, and chic restaurants lined along with the palm trees of the seafront streets. Here you’ll find vivid nightlife with beach bars, nightclubs, and cocktail bars staying open until the first rays of sunlight during summertime. Glyfada is also home to several beautiful beaches such as Asteras beach with pristine sands and aquamarine waters, combining sunny coasts with a vibrant gastronomy and nightlife scene.

Naturally, both these areas are home to some of the most luxurious hotels on the Athens Riviera as well as fancy restaurants, ice cream shops, seaside cafes, and watersports centers.

Where to stay in Athens for sightseeing?

The best place to stay in Athens is near the Acropolis in the Plaka or Anafiotika neighborhoods. This will put you in the center of the action and within walking distance of the Acropolis, Roman Agora, Library of Hadrian, and Syntagma Square. Both neighborhoods are picturesque and quaint, with narrow pedestrian-only streets, many restaurants, and interesting shops.
